Well than!

So this week we have already had multiple catastrophies.

New Carpet in Living Room = BIG PROBLEMS

As you can tell we got new carpet in the living room and well my mom decided that she was going to make sure that the dogs couldn't get in the living room. I don't really enjoy the fact that the dogs aren't allowed into the living room
We have those baby gate things and my mom thought that she was going to be able to keep the dogs out of the living room by putting baby gates, lets put it this way, baby gates don't really equal dogs staying out of the living room it ends up with the dogs knocking the baby gate over in order to get into the room. Well than you get my mom mad that the gates got knocked over but than they didn't really listen. But now they understand that they get scolded if they don't stay in behind the gate.
Sporty isn't a dumb dog and he realizes why they don't call it the puppy dog face for nothing. He likes to make my mom upset by "talking"(barking in a low bark). When he talks, he acts like it is a real conversation. I think that it makes him seem more human. My mom gives into things that Sporty does, because when Sporty talks he usually gets his way, in this case he got to go into the living room and be in there for the rest of the night.
That leads me to another reason that I don't enjoy the fact that the dogs aren't allowed in the living room. One night, we had them in the front room seperated by the baby gates. I was doing my homework and once I finished I went to bed. Well, since I was super tired I forgot that the dogs were in the front room. I didn't realize that I had forgotten them until I woke up the next morning. Well my parents weren't too happy that I had forgotten my own dogs also. I got in trouble with my mom for not taking them outside during the night. "You know that is your only true responsibility, taking care of your dogs. I can't believe you forgot them..." Long story short. The baby gates are down adn I didn't get in trouble.
Another thing that happened this week is that the dogs both got in trouble for eating... No I don't mean that they got into trouble for eating random things throughout the house. The dogs both have been eating random pieces of wood that goes to different things throughout the house. For example, Harley went and chewed on the end of my bed. She's almost seven years old. I can't believe that a seven year old dog would actually chew on a random piece of furniture like that. Okay, I would understand if she were like two years old but really? Seven years old and still chewing on some random furniture. Sporty is no better he found out that he can chew on his bandana after he gets it off of his head. Well, I don't necessaraly like picking up random pieces of things that have bite marks all over them.

Earaches, Sickness, and Pottiers Oh My!!

Sporty has a reoccurring ear infection, his vet says that it is probably going to happen every year and to just give him medicine until it gets better. Woo! Who likes cramming a pill down a dogs throat in order for it to get better? No one! Unfortunately though, my dog has figured out that if you come home from the vet and give him cheese, than you obviously have put something in it. Smart dog, and don't even start on hot dogs, he figured that out last year. He eats around the pill and then spits the pill out on your lap, as if to say, "You didn't really think that was going to work right?" Some times I wonder about him, if he really is as smart as he comes off to be. The pill isn't the only thing that I have to give him, ther is also the fantastic tube of this creme that I have to stick down his ear. To make matters worse, this tube has an extended cap that you have to put down his ear. I wish that it was easier and wasn't so time consuming. Well, at least this year, he is used to it and lets me put it down his ear. Last year, the poor little thing hated getting this tube down his ear and yelped like he was dying everytime. So, I guess compared to last year, so far this earache is better. In a lot of ways this year is better than last with his ears. For example, last year he would wake up at midnight and start scratching at his ear, well when he would scratch his ear, it would start to bleed. The vet said that he probably had popped a vessle. Well than he would start to yelp because he was in pain obviously, and when he yelped, he would wake me up. It got to the point where I would have to sleep while holding a washrag over his ear. I don't know why but for some reason it made him feel better. Well at least he would get to sleep easier.  So I am glad that this year it is easier than last. Another thing that is different from last year is that Sporty now has a hat that he wears outside at all times. Its red and really soft. It was originally my moms but she decided that he needed it more, so she put it on him and he won't go outside without it.
Also this week, everyone in the house has a cold, even the dogs, well Harley at least has a cold. She also has been getting sick this week. She got sick today and my mom had to clean it up which was kind of funny because since I wasn't home, I didn't have to. At my house, since the dogs are my dogs, they are my chores. Which means that when they throw up, I have to clean it up. Unless, I am at school or not at home. Luckily for me Harley got sick while I was at school, so I didn't have to clean it up.
Another thing that happened this week was that Harley keeps going to the bathroom in the house and tries to get Sporty in trouble for it. Well my mom knows that Sporty usually doesn't go to the bathroom in the house. Luckily, Harley finally got caught in the act this afternoon and my mom got mad at her and so she didn't get any treats after dinner.
Well thats all I have for this week, Happy Early Thanksgiving!

I thought she was gonna die!!!

Okay, this week was a very interesting week. I think that play practice made it ten thousand times more fun. This week was dress rehearsal week so every other day I was either home by eight o'clock or 10:30. Except for Thursday which was Veterans Day. (By the way, Thank you to all of our troops, former and serving, Thanks!) On Thursday I was there at 9:00 am and didn't leave until 2:30 p.m. because of pictures and that we didn't have school. On Tuesday, Harley started acting really superbly weird. I was sitting on my bed doing my homework and she came into my room, I told her to jump and she went towards the bed like she was gonna jump on it but before she got all the way off the ground, she did a sudden and scary yelp, like when you accidently step on your dogs foot at night while trying to get through your house when all of the lights are off, and they yelp like its the end of the world. So I checked all of her paws to see if she had stepped on something, but I couldn't find anything, so than I tried to move all of her limbs and push on her sides to see if she was hurt and of course, that too did not work. I don't know what was wrong but she wouldn't get up on my bed and than she made me pick her up to get on it. As if thats not enough, she than preceded to whimper like she needed to go outside or something, so I tried to take her out and she wouldn't even jump down to go outside, so I picked her up and put her on the floor, she started walking and when we got to the door, she wouldn't go out. I than preceded to put on her leash and she wouldn't even go off of the porch when I finally got her outside. I couldn't understand what was going on so I let her in my room and put her on my bed. I put a blanket on her and held her because she looked like she was going to well I don't really like to say die but that's what she looked like. I truly thought that she might have, only because she has out lived her life expectancy by almost a year and I don't know why but I thought that she might you know! Its bad I know but I was really worried! She proceeded to act like this until Thursday when I woke up and she was in my room with a toy ready to play. I was really excited :) I know its bad to say that I thought that there could be a possibility that she could have died but really, I mean she has lived longer than that expected of a boxer. I realized that she was even better, this morning when  I woke up and she was already barking because she needed to go outside. I had to go to Drama an hour after school so I only got to come home for maybe forty-five minutes. While I was home, Harley was normal Harley and all has been good since. I am really happy that she isn't sick anymore.

November already?

Wow, can you believe that it is November already. I still can't believe that in a couple of weeks it will be Christmas! Okay so this week has been kind of interesting. The dogs seemed to have fun at least. On Monday, we got to take down Halloween decorations, and Sporty and Harley both loved it. I think that Sporty liked because he got to play tug of war with Harley with the rope off of the inflatable thingy.Well after that was finished, (which, luckily he didn't chew up the actual inflatable part.) Last week, I tried to figure out what the dogs were going to wear for Halloween, it turns out that they went as just normal Harley and Sporty.
Another sort of exciting thing that happened this week was that both dogs got a bath. Baths for the dogs are supposed to be bi-weekly at my house but they usually end up being once or occasionally twice monthly. I don't know why because its not that the dogs don't like baths, its just that they are time consuming, and if you're not careful, they can be very messy. I guess they aren't really time consuming, well except for having to get the dogs into the tub. I don't know why but for some reason, every time that the dogs are told that they are going to get a bath, they both run away. Now its not like they don't like them because I still have to hold Harley's head up sometimes because she will fall asleep while in the tub, Sporty has never ever done that, but I have caught him sleeping it the tub one time when I woke up to get ready for school. Well, they had already gotten a bath once this month and so Sporty wasn't thrilled when he had to get another one. Harley didn't seem to mind though.
We also found out this week, well we really didn't find out but just guessed that both Sporty and Harley have allergies. Every time we take them outside, they sniff the leaves and start sneezing like crazy. Well that was enough for mom to say that they both have bad allergies which I think is funny.
I think that Harley is becoming more and more lovable and lazy as she gets older. I remember when she was three, and we took her to my grandpa's. She was so hyper back than, that she ran through his house like forty times and then when she was finally finished with that, she decided to jump over the couch about forty more times. Sometimes I miss that and other times I am glad that she isn't as hyper as she used to be. Although here lately, I have been beginning to notice that she likes to sleep more, which sometimes is okay but others I wish that she wouldn't sleep because I'm bored and I want the hyper monster that I used to have, but that rarely happens, ha just kidding!
Another thing that happened this week was that the dogs got a hold of my Alabama Crimson Tide blanket and decided to fight, (well it wasn't exactly a fight, unless you count a stare down as a fight)over who would get to sleep on it. My mom thought it was funny that they both had a stare down for it, and I have to admit it was quite humorous! The stare down ended with both of the dogs on the blanket. Good compromise!
Well until next week!

Happy Halloween(:

So this week is red ribbon week and I dressed my dogs up for this week with red bandana's. I thought that it was super cute. Well, Harley wasn't so enthused with the way that hers fit and decided to bother it until it came off. I was kind of upset at first because I thought she looked cute in it but than Sporty decide that he wanted to wear hers too, so when she finally got it off, he brought it to me and made me put it on him. So for all of Monday, Sporty went around with both his and Harley's bandana on.
Last week I told you that I would say what the dogs were gonna be for Halloween. Well at first, I was gonna make Sporty a mummy and Harley was gonna be either a football or a pumpkin. Well, than I decided that both dogs were way to hyper to put in costumes and money is kind of short in the allowance department, so dad put the foot down and said no. Now, I'm deciding on whether or not I should make two costumes out of stuff around the house, like extra fabric and old shirts and things, but I don't have any ideas. Than I realized that's what google is for!!! So in between today and tomorrow, I am going to find out what I want my dogs to be for Halloween. I guess it really doesn't matter because Sporty and Harley are both going to be inside most of the night, but in the spirit of Halloween, I still want to dress them up. Parents dress up children, since I don't have any kids, my dogs are sort of like my practice children. Haha!
For some reason, Sporty is either mad at me or really has issues with keeping his food down, because Tuesday morning, I had to get ready for school early because class rings came in, Sporty came in to wake me up and the way he woke me up was by vomiting, not once but twice. I think that he either has it in for me or something, because every time he gets sick, he gets sick in my room. Hilarious to everyone in the house besides me! Well that may be because I had to clean it up. I really think that he just does it for laughs because each time he does it, he ends up being in my room, which my parents think is hilarious. I find it humorous that he only ever does it in my room, because for some reason, Harley is never in the same room when he does it, but as soon as she hears me gryping about it, she comes running as if to be laughing about it in front of mine and Sporty's face. I think its kind of an "older sister thing" because if I had a younger brother that always got sick in my mom's room, I would laugh along with my parents because I know how it feels, but when it happens, I'm always furious. Quite funny if you think about it.
Enough about Sporty's food, thats all I have to talk about this week. Oh yeah, Happy Halloween to all of you out there!

Harley, the meanie of the two???

Okay so this week was a lot of nothing really. Both Sporty and Harley were rather rambunctious. I think that Harley was really wound up all week, which to me seems really random, because she normally isn't really that into playing around outside. I think that this may be because of her age, she is almost seven years old. But I guess it really doesn't matter what age she is, because you can always be hyper whether you're old or not. I think that Sporty enjoyed it though. Mostly because when I was gone at school, he had someone to play with besides my mom. I think that he enjoys getting to mess around with Harley more because normally she doesn't want to do much of anything(again possibly because of age). Sporty is more of a happy dog when Harley is more playful because he just gets away with bothering her more I guess. Not that we like get mad at him for messing with Harley but sometimes he does get on her nerves. I have noticed however, that Harley is a little bit more aggressive with age, mostly because when she plays she likes to use her paws, and this is something that she has always done, that is why Boxers were given the breed name, because they always use their paws. But Harley was kind of mean when she played with Sporty this week, they have a toy that looks like a duck and it has a squeaky thing inside of it, well Harley doesn't like the squeaky and I think that Sporty knows this well he kind of eggs her on by squeaking the toy right next to her face. Well Harley, like any other person would do, sort of smacked Sporty on the forehead, and Sporty now has a scar where he made Harley mad and she smacked him.
Another thing that Harley does is get Sporty in trouble for things that she does. Now I have talked about this before but in case you missed that post, here's another infamous story. The other day I was abut ready to eat dinner when my mom called me into the other room for something, well I went to help her and left my food on the coffee table. Harley didn't think that I was looking and started eating food off of my plate. Well she tried to get Sporty in trouble and started taking food off the plate and put it in front of where he was laying. Of course since I saw this, I couldn't help but to laugh, I mean how many people can say that they have seen their dogs do something like this. Well Harley looked up and saw me and then looked over at Sporty as if to say, "It was all his fault." I can't help but wonder if this is what its like to have small children around. If anyone ever said that having dogs was like having children, I probably would have to agree, even though I don't have any children, but anyways. That's all for this week, next week, my Halloween ideas for Sporty and Harley!!

Harley: jealous of the baby brother

This week is the first week of October, so of course, it was the week that our family put up Halloween decorations. Both Sporty and Harley were involved in the planning of the decorations, but only in the fact that I made sure that both Harley and Sporty wouldn't mess up the things that we put outside, like the airblown decorations with the lights inside of them. Well lets say that I tried to make sure that the dogs wouldn't get into the different decorations, it did NOT work out how I planned. I thought that they wouldn't get into anything  because they usually don't run into things... Well normally they don't but, this time had to be different because that's just the way my luck would go, so when Sporty ran outside, he decided that it would be fun to start digging up one of the decorations and then once caught, to run to my mom as if to stay out of trouble. Well that didn't work and he did get in trouble, instead of getting his "good dog" milkbone, he didn't get to get one. I thought that this was a suitable punishment. Harley thought that she was special because she got to eat one while Sporty didn't. Harley thinks that those sort of things are special, because she doesn't really get as much attention as she once was when she was an only dog... Its sort of like Sporty is her baby brother and she is in the jealous big sister mode, like when a parent comes home with a new baby when their first child is only a couple of years old. I think that the way that she is acting is a couple of years late since we've had Sporty for almost three years now. We got him when he was two months so she should be over this phase now right? Well obviously not, because for some reason she has went back to the baby phase of being Harley, for some reason, she thinks that she is the only dog again and that we shouldn't be paying attention to Sporty, which I understand because if I had a little brother, I would act the same way. I also understand how Sporty likes to milk his attention, when Sporty came along people thought that maybe since he was a pitbull that he needs more attention, and I do admit that I am responsible for kind of putting a lot of my time and attention towards Sporty for a while because I was like a little kid with a new toy and the old one wasn't really as important as it once was, but I stopped that after the first time Sporty ate my shoe. He wasn't my dog for a week after that because I declared that he was my mom's. I acted more nice to Harley after that and really I've limited myself to the attention that I give each dog. Usually, I try to make my dogs time the same amount because I knew how it felt to feel left out. So now the dogs get usually equal amount of attention from me but not really everyone else...

Sporty: a monster or a scaredy cat?

So this week, I learned something that I've never actually thought I'd have to learn, when a dog thinks that its a big dog, it usually is afraid of the smallest thing in sight. It all started Tuesday night, I come home and everything is fine so I go about doing my normal routine, something to eat, television(Swift Justice with Nancy Grace) and onto homework, peer reviews first because those take the longest for some reason. While doing my homework, Sporty came up to me and wanted me to take him outside, so of course, I do what any other teenager would do, "Mom, Sporty needs out, and I'm busy can you take him..." Well of course my mom says no and I end up having to take him outside. While outside, he deliberately decided to take off for the back of the house, now keep in mind that I take both him and Harley out on leashes, and not those retractable ones either, which means that he almost yanked my arm off, but I finally got him to stop running long enough for me to see at least a glimpse of what he was chasing after. Who would have thought, he's a dog and what do dogs love to chase more than cars and the occasional mailman, yep you guessed it, A SQUIRREL, and not just any cute little squirrel. The ones in my back yard are evil, when they are mad, they throw nuts at you, and when you run after them, they just stand there like nothings happening and it looks like they are going to run directly towards you. So of course this time was no different, Sporty ran after the squirrel, and what happens next, the squirrel just stands there kind of waiting for the dog to do something. Well Sporty is kind of a dork in the sense that he thought that the squirrel would run away but instead of the squirrel running away, my poor little Sporty yanked my arm off again and ran toward the front of the house. When I let him in the house, he ran right into my mom's room as if to say something like a little kid would, for example the look on his face was like he was saying "Well aren't you going to do anything about these horrendous creatures that do absolutely nothing but scare me..." It was one of the funniest faces that I think I have ever seen him make. After something like that happens, you don't really think about it that much and it ends up just rolling off of your shoulders, but in my house, once one thing goes a little a-wall than something else has to. So I went back to doing my homework and Sporty went into another room, my room to lay on my bed. I didn't think anything of it until he kept coming in the living room and trying to get my attention. Unfortunately for me, I just kept on going back to my homework and didn't think of it until I was ready to go to sleep, well I walked into my room which was pitch black, and I stepped into something sort of gooey and wet. Obviously, I thought that something was wrong so I went to turn on my light, and stepped in the gooey mess again in a different spot. Not knowing what it was, I turned on the light to look and see Sporty's head hanging low like when he knows he's done something wrong, and looked on my floor but the "gooey mess" to find out what it really was... Turns out that something didn't agree with Sporty's stomach not once but TWICE. I think that when he was coming in the living room while I was doing my homework, he was trying to tell me that he had thrown up in my room but I didn't pay attention. Well I was angry but you know how when a dog is in trouble or sick they get their puppy dog eyes going, Sporty knows just how to milk it and I couldn't help but smile and forgive him, after all he didn't do anything wrong. During all of these festivities, Harley was in the front room watching Animal Planet and sleeping through all of the festivities.

Another Week Gone by Already?

So this week went by super fast... I don' t know if it did for the dogs but it did for me. I think that's how it always is on homecoming week, well technically its not homecoming, its float building. This week as been kind of packed with homework to so it felt like I didn't get to see my dogs at all.
Speaking of that, I wonder how long dogs think that we are away even when we are only away for like two hours. Do they think that its like two years? Well I mean one human year is seven dog years, who came up with that anyway. Oh yeah back to my story. My dogs are always "attacking" me  when I get home from school, and I wonder if it means that they miss me so much. Well that's what most people take it as. Anyway, when I say "attacking" I don't mean crazily barking and chewing off my face:)... I mean jumping all over the door and all over me when I walk in the house. I think that my dogs are the craziest things though, I mean I know I say that a lot but they really are. I think that some of the things they do, you could never understand unless you have a camera at that exact moment. I mean that brings me to one day this week, I can't remember what day it was exactly but  I had to take Harley outside and Sporty stayed inside, I came back in the house and Sporty decided that he wanted to go out. I took him out and when I brought him back inside, he ran right to the television and stared like he didn't want to miss anything. I thought it was the cutest thing, but unfortunately the moment I went to get my camera, he jumped up and ran into the other room. I think that my dogs are a little camera shy... For example one day, Harley was sitting like a person with her paw on the remote and her legs propped up on the edge of the couch, it looked really cute but the second that I went to get my camera, she shot up and ran in the other room. Why do dogs always do that, you think that they look so cute so you try to take a good picture and as soon as they see the camera, they decide to run away and not be the perfect angels that they try to portray to every one else that comes around.
My dogs have a problem with that also, they are sometimes like little devils but then as soon as someone is around, they are either really good or really bad. I guess this is sort of what my other blog post was aoubt when I was talking about how my parents feel. Because I definitely just described how toddlers act with their parents. So maybe that's why I decided to write a blog about "raising" a pit bull and a boxer...
Until next week.(:

Why?

Why do dogs eat everything? I think that my dogs are pigs in disguise I don't know how or why but my dogs eat everything in sight. What about the fact that they eat a forty pound bag of dog food every two weeks. I don't know how but they can put away the food. Harley she shows her weight Sporty however is one of those people that are known for their high metabolism. Good golly they never stop eating. Its like they think that if they don't eat it right away it won't be there ten minutes later. I'm sorry but I think that something has to change. Okay not really :) But I do think that they eat a little to much.
My dogs are very weird aobut those things. I think that if I were to take the food out of the house, they would possibly go crazy, my mom would end of feeding them way more table scraps than needed. Believe me she already does. I think that may be part of the problem. Every time you get something to eat at our house, our dogs think that they have to eat also. If they needed to the dogs could get their own food out of the bag. Theyv'e done it before, not because we didn't feed them but just because they could... Didn't want you to get confused there. Take this Tuesday for example, I came home from school and went into the kitchen where the dog food and water bowls are and was going to change the water but as I look over, Sporty has his head stuffed into the dog food bag and is scarfing down food, and when I look for Harley to see where she is during all of this, well I don't have to look for very long, shes laying down in the mess that Sporty has all over the floor, I couldn't help but laugh. I mean how many people can say that their dogs have done this. Unfortunatley, when I went for my camera, the dogs had already thought that they were in trouble and went in the other room, so no pictures could frame the suspects!!!
I like that sometimes I am the only one that catches the dogs doing these things, because in a way, I know my mom would freak. But in another sense, normal people that don't know my dogs wouldn't ever believe me. I also think that in one way, I'm the only one that has to clean up the mess that they won't eat before my mom sees it. I think that sometimes the dogs just try to make more work for me but I really don't know. Maybe it is just a coincidence but in some ways I think not.
I also found out this week that a pit bulls jaws are a lot stronger than that of which I thought before. We got Sporty a new toy and I was playing tug of war with him, well I started spinning around in circles and in no time I lifted him up off the ground. First, I thought that I was going to break his teeth so I let him down but I did it again and yet again he got up and was off the ground by about three inches. I never knew that dogs could hold onto something like that with just their teeth. I find out new and wow-factoring things aobut my dogs daily.

Nothing really new...

So this week was kind of a dead week with Sporty and Harley... They didn't really do anything interesting at all. Well I guess they had to have done something but this week, I was so busy I didn't even realize what they had done... I kind of feel bad that I am so busy that i don't really get to see them(Wait did I really just say that, I mean I am a teenager usually people don't say things like that until their like married with kids right?) I don't know all I really know is that they usually do things that make me laugh and this week I didn't get much laughter well I guess that could be because I was so stressed but hey high school does that to you... Anyway more on the stars of this blog, Harley decided that she was going to be a rascal today and jump on my bed at 5 in the morning and bark until I got up, usually this wouldn't be so bad but I literally only had two hours of sleep last night. (Book Reports keep you up when you like to procrastinate) Well anyway she wouldn't be quiet so I had to get up and take her outside. Well then she proceeded to not do anything at all except just sit outside. I think that she likes to do things just to annoy me. I like that the only time I have paid attention to my dogs this week is when they needed food or when they needed to go out. I feel kind of bad but I guess I will get over it.

Harley is always like that though, she likes to push your buttons, but I think it’s kind of funny at times, just not when she does it to me. That’s kind of like the saying its only funny until someone gets hurt. Well in this case I guess it would be “Its only funny when she is pushing other people’s buttons not when she’s pushing yours”.

Sporty has this thing about his feet now; he likes to chew at them a lot. I don’t really get it but his face is starting to go a little raw because of it. I guess he is going to have to go to the vet and we will figure it out, but until than I just try to tell him not to. What good that does, I think that it might be like poison ivy for dogs but I don’t get how because it doesn’t affect me so I don’t get why it’s such a big problem for the dogs. I feel bad for the little guy because he is always chewing at his paws.

Next week’s post should be better, mostly because I don’t have as many things to do as I did this week and I can watch them more than I did this week. I miss not seeing the funny things that they do. But anyways, next week should be better.

Is this how my parents feel???

Okay so this week, I thought that I would let you know about my dogs and their moods. You know how some people say that their dogs are spoiled; well I think that my dogs are getting back at me for saying that. This week all Harley the boxer has done is not listen at ALL. (If this is what parenthood is like, I'm not looking forward to it.) I mean, she will listen to anyone in the house EXCEPT ME... Anytime I try to make her get off the couch she looks at me and has that look like "You’re not my boss, I don't have to listen at all." Typically what a seven year old dog does right. Umm I think not she is just a sassy meanie if you ask me. I know I sound like I have a five year olds vocabulary but that’s what she was at the time to me. Sporty the pit bull was the same way on Monday. I walk in the house after school and he was at the door to greet me the same as everyday but when I told him to move, he barked at me like as if to say "You are not the boss of me missy." I mean honestly you feed and water and take care of these dogs as if they are people but you don't get anything in return, well at least not until they want something, or did something wrong and are trying to hide it.( Really is this what parenting is like, cause if so I’m sorry to my parents.)

Another thing that Harley has done this week is eat things in my room that she is not supposed to. Harley likes to get Sporty in trouble and this week I have figured it out. Sometimes I will find that one of the dogs has gone to the bathroom in the house, something that they know is definitely not right. Well I figured out this week that when everyone is blaming Sporty, Harley is walking away or puts her head down. I never really thought about it until Tuesday when I woke up and there was my hairbrush laying in the middle of the floor with half of the handle eaten off. Well at first I figured that it might have been Sporty but then I realized that Sporty usually the one who is at the bottom of my bed sleeping but Harley used to like to eat things in my room when she was a puppy.  I’ve figured out that yes she does know not to eat things but she thinks that she can get away with it by sort of blaming it on Sporty. We’ve all done this. Blame the youngest dog for eating everything. Well that’s what I did but then I realized that Harley was walking away and Sporty was just sitting there. First sign of a guilty dog is if they walk away. So when I told Harley to come back, she went under the kitchen table, her hiding place. Thats when I knew I had a bad dog on my hands. It turns out that Harley had eaten the hairbrush. So I guess that blaming the wrong kid is bound to happen in many homes across America, it just so happens that this week I didn't blame kids I blamed dogs.

Hello out there!!!

I am starting this blog because this year in my Creative Writing class, my teacher has decided to have us write a weekly blog post. At first, I couldn't decide on what to write about that could pull in readers, I mean I could write about random things, such as my adventures in learning to drive, my adventures of trying to get the perfect picture in my photography class, or maybe my two dogs. That's when I realized that I can always talk about my dogs because they always do really funny and random things that I find unusual for dogs to know how to do. Now obviously, you should already know what types of dogs I have, or at least If you read the title of this blog, but just in case you missed that info, I have a six year old boxer named Harley and a two year old Pit Bull named Sporty.

If you are about to exit out of my blog because I dared to say that I have a pit bull, one of the most misleading dog breeds in America and possibly the world, hear me out. Yes, Pit Bulls are a dog breed that is mostly known for being an aggressive breed or a fighting breed; but if you know anyone with a pit bull, most likely you know that they are not a mean dog if treated right. in my opinion, Pit Bulls have had a bad reputation put on them just because some foolish person decided that they would neglect their dog and teach the dog how to fight. (Okay so technically Pit Bulls are a "Bully" breed and they are born to fight, but it had to start with someone. The dog didn't just automatically turn aggressive over night, someone had to teach it right?)

Anyway, hopefully I have convinced you to stay on this page and read more about what this blog is really about, my two dogs Sporty and Harley and their crazy activities. Okay so I got Harley when I was ten. She was my first inside dog. When we first got her, I knew she was going to be something out of the ordinary, I mean if the first time you get a dog and she sits next to you, she unties your shoes as soon as you look away, there is obviously something unusual about her. In the years following, I would figure out that Harley could do more than just untie shoes, she could also play soccer and "box" with her paws. Harley has been through a tornado, that ripped off the roof of my dads house, luckily she was safe and no one got hurt. Now that may not be interesting to many people but I find that neat, how many people can say that their dog was in a tornado. (Okay, probably a lot of people but not really a lot of people from around where I live.) When I was fourteen we got my second inside dog, Sporty. Sporty came all the way from Oregon where some of my family lives. One interesting fact about Sporty is that for the first eight months of his life, he traveled around the forty - eight continental United States with my dad in the semi truck. In thirty-two weeks, he had been from Oregon to Florida and then some. I don't know very many people that can say that, let alone dogs. When Sporty finally settled to stay at home, he was a year old. That's when the adventures of Sporty and Harley began. In the first couple of weeks, Harley wanted nothing to do with Sporty but she quickly got over that and they started to become inseparable. If Harley went somewhere, Sporty was sure to follow. We started to realize that Sporty was good for Harley in more ways than one because Harley was getting more exercise. We also realized that Harley became more rambuncious when Sporty was around. Harley would quickly find out though that Sporty wasn't a foolish dog and knew how to get the best of her. But thats a story for next week...
