Harley: jealous of the baby brother

This week is the first week of October, so of course, it was the week that our family put up Halloween decorations. Both Sporty and Harley were involved in the planning of the decorations, but only in the fact that I made sure that both Harley and Sporty wouldn't mess up the things that we put outside, like the airblown decorations with the lights inside of them. Well lets say that I tried to make sure that the dogs wouldn't get into the different decorations, it did NOT work out how I planned. I thought that they wouldn't get into anything  because they usually don't run into things... Well normally they don't but, this time had to be different because that's just the way my luck would go, so when Sporty ran outside, he decided that it would be fun to start digging up one of the decorations and then once caught, to run to my mom as if to stay out of trouble. Well that didn't work and he did get in trouble, instead of getting his "good dog" milkbone, he didn't get to get one. I thought that this was a suitable punishment. Harley thought that she was special because she got to eat one while Sporty didn't. Harley thinks that those sort of things are special, because she doesn't really get as much attention as she once was when she was an only dog... Its sort of like Sporty is her baby brother and she is in the jealous big sister mode, like when a parent comes home with a new baby when their first child is only a couple of years old. I think that the way that she is acting is a couple of years late since we've had Sporty for almost three years now. We got him when he was two months so she should be over this phase now right? Well obviously not, because for some reason she has went back to the baby phase of being Harley, for some reason, she thinks that she is the only dog again and that we shouldn't be paying attention to Sporty, which I understand because if I had a little brother, I would act the same way. I also understand how Sporty likes to milk his attention, when Sporty came along people thought that maybe since he was a pitbull that he needs more attention, and I do admit that I am responsible for kind of putting a lot of my time and attention towards Sporty for a while because I was like a little kid with a new toy and the old one wasn't really as important as it once was, but I stopped that after the first time Sporty ate my shoe. He wasn't my dog for a week after that because I declared that he was my mom's. I acted more nice to Harley after that and really I've limited myself to the attention that I give each dog. Usually, I try to make my dogs time the same amount because I knew how it felt to feel left out. So now the dogs get usually equal amount of attention from me but not really everyone else...
